Transfer of political prisoner Yahya Mohamed Hafed to hospital

Submitted on
Ait Melloul (Morocco), March 29, 2014 (SPS) – The local  prison administration in Ait Melloul, Morocco, transfered Friday Sahrawi political prisoner Yahya Mohamed Hafed Aazza to the regional hospital of  Inezgane due to his deteriorating health conditions as result of more than six years of arbitrary detention, according to the Ministry of the Occupied Territories and Community Abroad.

" He had refused to go to hospital because the prison administration tried to force him to wear the prison uniform, which he considered as an insult to him and to his dignity as prisoner of conscience serving a cruel and unfair sentence intended primarily to take revenge on him as a Sahrawi defender of human rights, " added the source.

The local  prison administration in Ait Melloul had transfered him several times to the hospital because of his deteriorating health conditions, without undergoing intensive care or showing recovery of various diseases as result of the miserable conditions in the prison and the complications of the hunger strikes that he had staged, it should be recalled.
