President of Republic congratulates ANC for winning elections in South Africa

Birlehlu (Liberated Territories), May 12, 2014 (SPS) - President of the Republic, Secretary General of the Polisario Front Mohamed Abdelaziz sent a letter of congratulations to his South African counterpart Jacob Zuma after victory of his party (ANC) in the elections that took place recently in South Africa.

 

"We havereceived with great joy and pleasure the news of the victory of the party of the ANC in the national elections held recently in the sisterly Republic of South Africa. It is my honor to speak on behalf of the Government and people of Saharawi Arab Democratic Republic and on my own behalf, to convey to Your Excellency and dear brother and through you to all activists of the ANC, its allies and the people of the Republic of South Africa, our fraternal greetings and best wishes," said the President of the Republic in his letter to his counterpart in South Africa.

 

"This victory, the fifth successive of its kind, reflects the confidence of the people of South Africa in the party of the ANC as a political force which has a large population in the country and the quality of movement that led the people not only for the liberation from the apartheid regime, but also to national reconciliation, democracy, social equality and economic development, " added the President of the Republic.

 

President MohamedAbdelaziz said he was confident that "the sisterly Republic of South Africa will continue under your leadership, the process towards further progress and prosperity and development."

 

SouthAfrica has always been a strong supporter of the just cause of the Saharawi people and their inalienable right to self-determination and independence, said the President of the Republic, reiterating his deep gratitude for the generous solidarity and support of South Africa for the Saharawi people's struggle for liberation from colonial and expansionist Moroccan regime.

 

He also expressedthe continued commitment and determination of the Saharawi Republic to "strengthen the bonds of brotherhood, friendship and cooperation existing between our two countries," concluded the letter a copy of which received by SPS. (SPS)
