AFASPA President stages sit-in at occupied El Aaiun airport

El Aaiun (Occupied Territories), August 7, 2014 (SPS) - The President of French Association of Friendship and Solidarity with the Peoples of Africa (AFASPA), Michèle Decaster, carried out a sit in at the airport of the occupied city of El Aaiun following her arrest by the Moroccan police and preventing her from entering El Aaiun without providing any legal basis for this arbitrary action, according to a human rights sources from the spot.

 

                                                                               

The source confirmed that the Moroccan police at occupied El Aaiun airport arrested Wednesday the President of French Association of Friendship and Solidarity with the Peoples of Africa, Michèle Decaster, and prevented her from entering El Aaiun to find out firsthand the situation of human rights in the occupied Western Sahara.

 

The source indicated that “as a response to the illegal procedure, she staged a sit-in at El Aaiun airport and refused to aboard the plane back to where she had come from, which led the Moroccan police to try to force her to aboard the plane, something they didn’t succeed in”.   

 

The source also indicated that the French human rights activist affirmed she will continue her sit-in at El Aaiun airport until she is provided with legal justification for not allowing her to enter El Aaiun occupied city compensate her for travel bill.
