Submitted on

London, November 2014 (SPS) - The British Government reaffirmed its support to the right of the Sahrawi people to self-determination, underlining that it deals with Morocco within its internationally recognized borders.

In its reply to the questions of the members of the parliament, the British Government said that it deals with Morocco within its internationally recognized borders, reaffirming its support to “the Sahrawi people’s rights to self determination.

Great Britain also supports the efforts of the United Nations Secretary General Personal Envoy to Western Sahara Christopher Ross aimed at resolving the conflict of Western Sahara through a negotiated solution which ensures the right of the Sahrawi people to self-determination said Parliamentary Under- Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs Tobia Ellwood.

In questions to the government, the British parliament broached the issue of the internationally recognized Moroccan borders as well as the implication of the British company Kern Energy in illegal prospecting activities in the occupied territories of Western Sahara.”

The reply of the British government confirms the international isolation of Morocco because of the its shameless involvement in the conflict of Western Sahara. (SPS)
