Oslo, November 23, 2014 (SPS) - Polisario Front representative in Norway, Dr. Limam Khalil, held Thursday in Oslo a meeting with Secretary General of Amnesty International section of Norway, John Peder Egenaes.
The two sides discussed the heavy prison sentences issued by a Moroccan military court against Sahrawi activists for their participation in demonstrations calling for self-determination and independence, denouncing the systematic pressure committed against Saharawis in the occupied territories of the Western Sahara and preventing observers and the international press from visiting the territory.
It should be recalled that Amnesty International called last April the Security Council to extend the mandate of the MINURSO to the monitoring and reporting on human rights. (SPS)
