Melbourne (Australia), Nov 23, 2014, (SPS) – The committee of solidarity with the Saharawi people in Australia has held on Friday, a preparatory meeting of the international seminar on natural resources of Western Sahara; which will be held in Australia next March.
The meeting was held in the presence of the POLISARIO representative in Australia Mr. Kamal Fadel, who has praised all the efforts done by the committee to shed the light on the illegal exploitation of Saharawi natural resources by Moroccan regime, warning of the seriousness of drilling operations which Cosmos Company is attending to do.
Mr. Kamal has briefed the presence on the latest developments of the Saharawi cause, as well as Moroccan obstructive attitude to international efforts to enable the Saharawi people to exercise their legal right to self-determination.
He also stressed the need of further efforts to put pressure on Morocco in order to comply with the international legitimacy and the resolutions of UN concerning decolonization of Western Sahara.
The Saharawi diplomat pointed in his speech, to the human rights violations carried by Moroccan regime in the occupied territories of Western Sahara, calling on the international community to assume its responsibilities to stop Moroccan intransigence against the international legitimacy and the UN resolutions.
