Nairobi (Kenya), November 28, 2014 (SPS) - A Sahrawi delegation is taking part in the Annual Humanitarian Conference of the African Union held November 27-29, in Nairobi, Kenya, alongside delegations of member states in addition to representatives of world humanitarian organizations.
The Sahrawi delegation includes Chairperson of Sahrawi Red Crescent Mr. Buhebainy Yahya, Ambassador to Ethiopia Mr. Lamine Baaly, and Ambassador to Kenya Mr. Bah Elmud.
The Conference will discuss many themes, notably globalization and effectiveness of humanitarian assistance, as well as reviewing various experiences and challenges at the level of the continent, particularly those related to refugees and displaced people.
It is scheduled on Friday that the Saharawi Ambassador to Ethiopia, Mr. Lamine Baaly, will chair the second morning session of the Conference as the first deputy of the Sub-Committee of the refugees on the African Union level, which will also witness an intervention of the Chairperson of Sahrawi Red Crescent, Mr. Buhebainy Yahya, on the experience and situation of the Sahrawi refugees as a model, followed by General discussions.
