Birlehlu (Liberated Territories) December 18, 2014 (SPS) – The President of the Republic, Secretary General of the Polisario Front, Mohamed Abdelaziz, congratulated Thursday his Cuban counterpart, Raul Castro, following the release of three Cubans who were in the United States prisons.
The President of the Republic welcomed the normalization of relations between Cuba and the United States, noting that the historic agreement between the two countries is "a very positive step in the right direction that would create a necessary atmosphere of peace, stability and prosperity in the region.
He hoped that the restoration of diplomatic relations will terminate the unjust blockade imposed on Cuba since 1960 and open a new era of mutual understanding and cooperation between Cuba and the United States.
Finally, the President of the Republic reiterated the will of the Saharawi Republic to work to strengthen the ties of friendship and cooperation that unite the Saharawi people and his Cuban brother. (SPS)
