PM arrives in Addis Ababa to represent President Mohamed Abdelaziz at AU Summit

Addis Ababa, Jan 29, 2015 (SPS) - Prime Minister, Mr. Abdelkader taleb Omar, arrived Thursday morning in Addis Ababa, capital of Ethiopia, to represent the President of the Republic and Secretary General of the Polisario Front, Mr. Mohamed Abdelaziz, at the 24th ordinary session of Heads of State and Government of the African Union, to be held on 30- 31 January 2015.


Prime Minister was received at Addis Ababa International Airport by the Ethiopian Minister of Agriculture, Mr. Tefera Deribew.


At the meeting, the two ministers focused on the latest developments at the continental level.


Prime Minister Abdelkader Taleb Omar is accompanied by a very important delegation includes Mr. Mohamed Salem Ould Salek, foreign affairs minister, Mrs. Fatma Mehdi, secretary general of women union, Mr. Hamdi Abaiha, minister delegate for African affairs, Mr. Lamine Baali, permanent representative to the AU and ambassador in Ethiopia.


To be noted, the summit will be convened on January 30-31 under the theme “year of women empowerment and development towards Africa’s Agenda 2063.”


The 24th summit aims at discussing the theme of year and also reviews the 2014 reports of the African Union.


It will also adopt the Agenda 2063 and review the AU Ebola response in Africa, among others. (SPS)
