Murcia (Spain) April 21, 2015 (SPS) - The Minister of Vocational Training, Employees and Public Function, Ms. Khira Bullahi, was received by the President of the Municipal Council of Molina de Segura, Mr. Edward Linares, as part of her visit to Murcia, Spain.
The minister informed her interlocutor on the latest developments of the Sahrawi issue and the barriers Morocco puts in front of the United Nations efforts to organize a referendum in Western Sahara, as well as the Polisario Front and the Sahrawi Republic’s concern on the ongoing human rights violations in the occupied Western Sahara.
During the meeting, the authorities of the Municipality expressed solidarity with Saharawi women struggle, calling for the extension of the United Nations Mission for the Referendum in Western Sahara (MINURSO) to include the human rights monitoring and reporting.
The Municipal Council also called on Spain to assume its historical and political responsibilities towards the Saharawi people. (SPS)
