Health Minister starts working visit to Canary Islands

Tenerife (Canary Islands) May 28, 2015 (SPS) - The Minister of Public Health Mr. Mohamed Lamin Dadi has started a working visit to the Canary Islands, Spain, to hold meetings with the its authorities.


Upon his arrival, the minister has talks with council of the professional association of doctors (Santa Cruz de Tenerife), where he informed them about the latest development on the Saharawi issue


He also oversaw along with Dr. Rodrigo Martin Hernández, head of the above-mentioned association, the establishment of a non-governmental organization of Canary doctors in solidarity with the Saharawi people.


The association aim to achieve a range of goals, of which establishing an emergency facility in the Saharawi refugee camps, training medical personnel, conducting surgeries and organizing study days on health.


On othe hand, the Minister paid a visit to the Saharawi citizen Tekber Hadi, on an open hunger strike since two weeks outside the Moroccan consulate in Las Palmas of the Canary Islands to demand justice for her son, Mohamed Lamin Haidala, who was killed by Moroccan settlers and police. (SPS)
