New York (United Nations), October 15, 2015 (SPS) – the representative of Costa Rica, Mr. Juan Carlos Mendoza-García called in the general debate of the Special Political and Decolonization, on Wednesday. For a referendum that would grant the Saharan people the right to self-determination.
The representative of Costa Rica in the Fourth Committee added that his country would continue to strive for a just and lasting solution to the situation of Western Sahara,
He also stressed the necessity to expand the mandate of Minurso to monitor and report the situation of human rights in the occupied Western Sahara. (SPS)
