Foreign Affairs Minister congratulates his Nigerian counterpart

Shaheed El Hafed, November 20, 2015 (SPS) - Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. Mohamed Salem Ould Salek sent Friday a congratulatory letter to his Nigerian counterpart Mr. Goeffrey Onyeama, recently appointed as minister foreign affairs in the new Nigerian government, after the success of all its members in obtaining the confidence of the Senate.

 

The Minister of Foreign Affairs expressed his warm congratulations to his Nigerian counterpart for becoming the head of the Nigerian diplomatic mission, conveying the "appreciation of Saharawi government and people for the firm position adopted by Nigeria in support of the just struggle of the Saharawi people for freedom and independence."

 

He stressed the willingness of the Sahrawi Republic to deepen and strengthen bilateral relations in order to service the interests of the two brotherly peoples and the peoples of the African continent.

 

The Federal Republic of Nigeria recognizes the Sahrawi Republic and they establish diplomatic relations at ambassadorial level since November 1984, it should be recalled. (SPS)
