Sahrawi refugee camps, February 18, 2016 (SPS) -the US Ambassador to Algeria Ms. Joan A. Polaschik on Thursday stressed that her country supports the negotiation process led by the United Nations, which aims at reaching a fair, lasting and a mutually acceptable political solution, in a press conference at the headquarters of the High Commissioner for refugee in Sahrawi refugee camps.
"Mrs. Joan A. Polaschik" indicated that the aim of the visit is to examine the humanitarian conditions of the refugees, especially after the floods that hit the camps in October last year.
US Ambassador to Algeria expresses his thanks to the efforts provided by the Algerian government to the Sahrawi refugees, recalling that since October 2013, the United States contributed with more than 23 million dollars to help the Sahrawi refugees, including more than 4 million dollars to support the activities and efforts of reconstruction following the floods that affected the Sahrawi refugee camps on 15 October 2015.(SPS)
