Geneva (Switzerland), August 18, 2024 (SPS) - The Swiss Solidarity Movement organized a memorial ceremony yesterday, Saturday, for the late friend of the Sahrawi people, Emmanuel Martinolli, in the presence of his family and friends, at his birthplace.

Speakers unanimously praised the deceased's qualities and his support for the Sahrawi people in their struggle, particularly in breaking the media blockade, documenting, and building a database of information and documents about Western Sahara accessible to all.

During the ceremony, Sahrawi diplomat Ms. Oumeima Abdesalam delivered a written message of condolences from Mr. Brahim Ghali, Secretary-General of the Polisario Front, President of the Republic, to the deceased's widow, Ms. Marie-Claire Martinolli.

The message expressed the "Sahrawi people's sorrow at the loss of such a prominent figure of solidarity, known for his exceptional legacy embodied in the landmark ARSO website."
