Harare (Zimbabwe), August 13, 2024 (SPS) - The President of the Republic of Zimbabwe Emmerson Mnangagwa, received today, at the Presidential Palace in the capital, Harare, Mr. Mohamed Yeslam Beisat, Ambassador to South Africa in Charge of the African File, in his capacity as Envoy of the President of the Republic, Secretary General of the Polisario Front, Mr. Brahim Ghali.
President Mnangagwa reiterated his country's firm, principled and unconditional position supporting the struggle of the people of the Sahrawi Republic for independence and the completion of national sovereignty.
During the meeting, the Sahrawi Envoy delivered a written message from President Brahim Ghali to his brother, His Excellency President Emmerson Mnangagwa, which included the two countries' intention to develop and strengthen bilateral relations in various fields, and the ongoing bilateral coordination on many issues and files related to the relations between the two brotherly countries.
The Sahrawi diplomat informed his host of the current developments in the Sahrawi issue at various levels; most notably the developments on the ground and the ongoing armed struggle after Morocco violated the ceasefire agreement between the two parties on November 13, 2020.
The meeting was attended by the Sahrawi Ambassador to the Republic of Zimbabwe Mr. Alwali Moussa, and several Senior Zimbabwean officials.
