Ankara (Turkey), 14 October 2023 (SPS) - The 13th International Women's March Conference has affirmed its support for the liberation struggle of Sahrawi women in their battle for liberation and nation-building against the Moroccan occupation.

At the conclusion of the conference, held in the Turkish capital, Ankara, the commitment to supporting the just struggle of Sahrawi women was renewed, praising their pioneering role in resisting Spanish colonization and rejecting Moroccan occupation.

During the conference, Omeima Slima, the International Officer of the National Union of Sahrawi Women, highlighted the contribution of women in laying the foundation of Sahrawi state institutions, as well as their resilience and resistance against the occupation.

The presence of the delegation from the National Union of Sahrawi Women at the conference received widespread solidarity from various participating delegations and their support for the Sahrawi people's right to self-determination and admiration for the struggle of Sahrawi women for freedom and independence.

It is worth noting that the National Union of Sahrawi Women has become, for the second time, one of the representatives of the African continent in the International Women's March, and among the outcomes of the conference is the endorsement and affirmation of support for the struggle of Sahrawi women until achieving independence.
