Cantabria (Spain) Sept 05, 2019 (SPS) - Delegate Saharaui for Cantabria, Maina Chejatu, and the Director of Development For Cooperation of the Government of Cantabria, Silvia Abascal, highlighted the close collaboration and support for projects aimed at the Saharawi people . At the meeting held at the headquarters of the Cantabrian institution.
In bilateral meeting, Abascal has renewed her support for the Saharawi Delegation, seeking ways of collaboration to continue sensitizing the Cantabrian population of these social realities and making known the struggle of the Saharawi people, whose attention is a priority within the cooperation policies of the Cantabrian Government .
For her part, the Saharawi representative, Maina Chejatu, thanked the unconditional support of the Government of Cantabria, presenting the current situation and progress in the Saharawi struggle. For the Saharawi leader, it is necessary to continue working on the political scene to promote the process of decolonization of Western Sahara.
The meeting also addressed the involvement of Cantabrian institutions and families in the organization of the solidarity program "Holidays in Peace", through which a hundred Saharawi children have been able to enjoy their summer vacations with host families.SPS
