Western Sahara International Film Festival concludes its works in Dakhla Camps

Dakhla,  October 15, 2016 (SPS) - Works and activities of 13th edition of Western Sahara International Film Festival, known as FiSahara, held current October 10-16 in the Wilaya of Dakhla wrapped out late last night, where it marked by a remarkable participation by international cinema figures and media representatives.

the participants in this edition which bears the slogan: People under occupation , called once again for the respect of the Saharawi people's rights to freedom and self-determination and to live with dignity and to expand the chain of solidarity with them.
 
Speaking at closing ceremony, Prime Minister, Mr. Abdelkader Taleb Omar called the participating delegations to transfer the reality of Saharawi people to world, requesting the UN Security Council to put pressure on Morocco in order to comply with the international legitimacy and enable the Saharawi people of their right to self-determination and independence.
 
For his part, Secretary General of the Ministry of Culture, Mustafa Mohammed Fadel expressed  , on behalf of the Government of the Sahrawi Republic, his thanks and gratitude to all those who contributed from near or from far in the preparation to the festival.
 
Maria Carrion dubbed the festival as an area of ​​entertainment for children and space to form the Saharawi youth in the seventh art, adding that the festival aims to bring together the biggest number of activists through the film, as a powerful weapon to serve just causes.
 
The closing ceremony also witnessed presentation of certificates of appreciation to the participants in the workshops of the festival.
 
It should be recalled that the festival was attended by directors and producers, filmmakers and human rights activists, and sympathizers with the Saharawi people from more than 16 countries across the world.SPS
