Chahid El Hafed, 01 March (SPS) - The Sahrawi National Assembly condemned the repressive practices against Sahrawi civilians who took to the streets to celebrate the 46th anniversary of the proclamation of the Sahrawi Republic, calling for the urgent intervention of the UN and the Council of security to put an end to Morocco's persistent violations of human rights in the occupied part of Western Sahara.
The political commission of the Sahrawi National Assembly held the UN and the International Red Cross "responsible" for the massive violations of human rights in the occupied part of Western Sahara, and the escalation of repression and abuse against Sahrawi activists rejecting the occupation.
She also warned of the danger of targeting Sahrawi activist Sultana Sid Ibrahim Khaya, through physical liquidation after the brutal attack on her family's home on Sunday, followed by the torture she was subjected to, which left marks on her body.
The Political Committee also condemned the reprisals against Sahrawi militants in occupied Dakhla, against the demonstrations condemning the kidnapping and assassination of the Sahrawi citizen Lahbib Aghrichi.
She also drew attention to the dangerous situation that Sahrawi civilian prisoners are going through in the jails of the Moroccan occupation, where they are deprived of their most basic rights.SPS
