Submitted on

Washington, 7 February 2020 (SPS) - Saharawi Representative in Washington, Moloud Saeed, on Thursday attended the 68th Annual National Prayer Breakfast hosted by the US President Donald Trump in Washington, at the invitation of the US Congress.
On the same day, Mr. Moloud Saeed attended a dinner Banquet at the US Senate, with the participation of members of the Senate, the House of Representatives and foreign delegations taking part in the Annual Breakfast.
During the Banquet, the Sahrawi Representative was invited to speak on behalf of Africa, where he thanked the members of the two legislative chambers for their interest in what is going on in the African continent, seizing the opportunity to brief them on the conflict between the Sahrawi people and the Moroccan occupier.
Then, Mr. James Inhofe, Chairman of Senate Armed Services Committee, took the floor to confirm his support to the Sahrawi people and their struggle for their just cause, describing Morocco's presence in Western Sahara as illegal.
The National Prayer Breakfast is a yearly event held in Washington, D.C., usually on the first Thursday in February. The event—which is actually a series of meetings, luncheons, and dinners—has taken place since 1953. (SPS)
