Dakhla (Refugee Camps), 14 January 2023 (SPS) - The President of the Republic, Secretary General of the Polisario Front, Brahim Ghali, presented, Friday in Dakhla in the Sahrawi refugee camps, the narrative and financial reports, during the evening session of the first day of the 16th Congress of the Polisario Front.
Named after the Martyr M'hamed-Khaddad-Lahbib, the 16th Congress will be held from 13 to 17 January, under the slogan "Intensifying Fight to Expel the Occupier and Complete Sovereignty".
During the plenary session devoted to the presentation of narrative and financial reports, Mr. Ghali highlighted the main achievements of the Sahrawi cause during the period between the 15th and 16th Congresses on all levels, affirming that the Sahrawi cause has succeeded during this period in achieving a significant and historical progress in the consecration of the position and justice of the cause at all international forums.
He evoked, in his narrative and financial reports, the international situation during which the Congress is held on all levels, starting from the covid-19 pandemic that has spread around the world and its social and economic impacts on the world.
Despite the exceptional circumstances marking the resumption of the armed struggle on 13 November 2020 due to the violation of the ceasefire agreement by Morocco and its attempt to attack Sahrawi civilians in El Guerguerat, a significant progress has been achieved at all levels, starting from the military institution by endeavoring to modernize it and provide it with the material and human resources available to adapt to the requirements imposed by the situation.
Brahim Ghali mentioned other extremely important fronts, namely "the front of the occupied territories and the imperative to strengthen it and provide it with the necessary means to fuel the resistance, in addition to the media and diplomatic fronts.
