Agadir (Morocco), December 17, 2017 (SPS) - The local prison administration of Ait Melloul in the Moroccan city of Agadir carried out on Sunday a humiliating search against Sahrawi political prisoners of Gdeim Izik group Bani Mohamed, Sidi Ahmed Lamjid and Mohamed Ambarak Lafkir, as well as messing with their belongings.
Fifteen prison officials raided the cells of Sahrawi political prisoners, where they deliberately messed with their belongings in a humiliating search that lasted for more than half an hour and subjected them to psychological torture and threatened them with harsh punitive measures without knowing the reasons.
On September 16, 2017, Sahrawi political prisoners were subjected to a reprisal separation from the local prison of Al-Aragat 1 to several Moroccan prisons. They were distributed to the cities of Casablanca, Kenitra, Khemisset, Ait Melloul and Bouzkarn, while retaining Sahrawi political camp Naama Asfari in Al-Aragat prison 1, after 60 days of the issuance of unjust sentences on Monday 17 July 2017 by the Court of Appeal in the Moroccan city of Salé.
The families of the Sahrawi political prisoners, Gdeim Izik group, condemned the arbitrary and inhuman treatment that their sons were subjected to in the Moroccan prisons following the separation and arbitrary deportation carried out by the so-called General Directorate of Prison Administration.
