Yokohama (Japan) 29 August 2019 (SPS)- The President of the Saharawi Republic, Brahim Ghali, participated on Wednesday and Thursday to the 7th TICAD Summit, organized in Yokohama, Japan.
The Summit was co-shared by the current Chairperson of the African Union, Egyptian President, Abdelfattah Sissi, and the Prime Minister of Japan, Shinzō Abe, under the theme: “Advancing Africa's Development through People, Technology and Innovation”.
The programme of work of the Summit focused on the economic transformation and improvements in business environment and institution through, private investment and innovation, promotion of resilient and sustainable society for human security and Peace and stability through the support to Africa’s own proactive efforts.
The participation of the Saharawi Republic in this international event is a further confirmation of the international presence of the republic and embodies the determination of the African Union to impose its principles and decision on its international partners.
The President of the Republic was accompanied by Mr. Mohamed Salem Uld Salek, Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mr. Abdati Breik, Counselor to the President, and Mr. Lamine Baali, Saharawi Permanent Representative to the AU.
