Algiers, 28 December 2020 (SPS) - SADR’s ambassador to Algeria Abdelkader Taleb Omar affirmed Saturday that the military strikes against the positions of the Moroccan forces “continue and will not stop, until the Sahrawi people obtain the liberation of their territories,” underlining that Morocco tries to hide these realities on the ground to “mislead those with which it wants to concluded political and economic agreements in the region.”
In a statement to APS, on the sidelines of his participation in the conference organized on the occasion of the commemoration of the 42nd anniversary of the death of president Houari Boumediene, Taleb Omar said that the military strikes “conducted by the Sahrawi army against the positions of the Moroccan forces, along the defense belt, continue,” adding that “the Sahrawi people remain united and committed to continuing their struggle to end the Moroccan occupation.”
“Mekhzen always tries to hide the realities on the ground to mislead those with which it wants to conclude political and economic agreements in the region,” he said.
He underlined that the Sahrawi people “do not trust anymore promises and are claiming something concrete,” adding that “the Moroccan system has ruined everything, from the peace plan to the ceasefire agreement, and which until now has no other will but escalation.”
For Taleb Omar “the Moroccan system’s practices push the region to the risks of clashes” pointing out “that, for him, it is wiser to learn from the past than to persist in tyranny and continue escalation.” (SPS)
