Shaheed Al-Wali School (Refugee Camps), May 12, 2019 (SPS) - Minister of the Occupied Territories and Communities Abroad, Bashir Mustafa Sayed, and Minister of Information Hamada Salma, on Sunday supervised the launch of a training course on the media of resistance at Shaheed Al-Wali National School, Sahrawi refugee camps.
The training course is the first of its kind in the refugee camps, lasts for 15 days, includes 24 trainees from the occupied territories of Western Sahara, and focuses on various media specializations.
In his speech, Minister of the Occupied Territories and Communities Abroad, Bashir Mustafa Sayed, indicated that the aim of this session is to acquire a level of expertise and knowledge in various fields.
It is worth mentioning that Sahrawi journalists in the occupied territories of Western Sahara have played a prominent role in exposing the massive Moroccan violations against the Sahrawis in the occupied territories of Western Sahara.
Many of them documented important stations of the struggle of the Sahrawi people under the Moroccan occupation (Independence uprising, Gdeim Izik camp, peaceful demonstrations, violations against Sahrawis).
They also kept pace with the national and international stations related to the national cause, which led the Moroccan occupation authorities to clamp down on the Sahrawi journalists and abuse them, and to bring them before trials and sentencing them to prison. (SPS)
