Western Sahara: November 8, established as National Day of Saharawi Civil Prisoner

Chahid El-Hafed, May 23, 2019 (SPS) -  Saharawi President,  Secretary General of the Frente POLISARIO, Brahim Gali, has promulgated a decree on establishing November 8 as the National Day of Saharawi Civil Prisoner, to be marked by festivities and activities organized by the ministry of Occupied Territories Affairs and Communities. 
The president of the Saharawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) also promulgated, on Monday, a decree awarding the Medal of the Republic to a group of war prisoners who have been honored on the occasion of the celebration of the 46th anniversary of the outbreak of the Saharawi armed struggle and the celebration of the National day of the Saharawi People's National Army, according to presidential decree, a copy of which obtained by SPS  
Western Sahara people celebrated Monday the 46th anniversary of the outbreak of the armed struggle, under the leadership of their only and legitimate representative, the Frente POLISARIO.
The date marks Western Sahara people's decision to take up arms against the Spanish occupiers to regain their independence, then against Morocco, which had invaded the territories of Western Sahara in 1975.
President Gali, in a speech, stressed the need for Saharawi people to preserve the gains of the armed and peaceful struggles until independence.SPS
