Tifariti (liberated territories), May 21, 2018 (SPS)-Several foreign delegations supporting the Sahrawi people and their just cause attended the festivities commemorating the 45th anniversary of the outbreak of the Sahrawi armed struggle Sunday in Tifariti.
Delegations represented by the ambassadors of Viet Nam, Ecuador, Namibia, Cuba and South Africa, as well as diplomats from Ethiopia, Uganda, Angola and Nigeria, other countries supporting the Sahrawi cause and two delegations representing Algerian and Mauritanian civil society associations, participated in the these festivities organized under the high patronage of President of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR), Secretary General of the Polisario Front and Supreme Chief of the Saharawi Armed Forces Brahim Ghali.
Several units and battalions of the Saharawi Liberation Army took part in military parades under the slogan "The Force of determination and will to impose independence and sovereignty."
The majority of military units having attended these festivities are composed of hundreds of young Sahrawi volunteers committed to defending the Sahrawi people’s right to freedom and emancipation. They received professional quality training, affirmed officials of the Polisario Front.
According to the Sahrawi Army Command, the categories that joined the Army ranks and partook in the festivities are only examples of the Saharawi military force that believes in the military doctrine of "independence or martyrdom."
The Sahrawi army exhibited a part of its weapons and means used to protect the liberated territories from the enemy and organized crime networks, secure all Sahrawi liberated regions and thwart the operations of gangs specialized in drug trafficking, directly linked to the occupier.
The parades wrapped up with a tactical hostage release exercise carried out by members of the Saharawi National Gendarmerie.
