Madrid, May 31, 2011 (SPS) .- The President of the Association of Saharawi women in Spain (AMSE), Zahra Ramdan, has participated Monday in lunch Conference of Under-Secretary-General and Executive Director of UN Women and X-President of Chile, Michelle Bachelet, at the invitation of the New Economy Forum.
The conference which took place at the Hotel Palace in Madrid, attended by many personalities representing political, economic, scientific fields, members of government as well as diplomatic corps accredited in Spain.
Speaking at the event, organized by New Economy Forum with the collaboration of The Wall Street Journal, Bachelet said that despite the crisis, "Spain has maintained its commitment to international cooperation and gender equality "and recalled its support for" constant "to the current UN Women, which she directs.
Related to new priorities of UN Women, Bachelet cited access of females to decision-makers of, impulse of political participation, fight against gender violence, inclusion of women in conflict resolution and management of peace.
At the end of that act, the Saharawi Representative, was able to convey to Bachelet, the message of justice and peace for the Saharawi people, reaffirming the firm will of the people of the African last colony to keep fighting for achieving their legitimate rights in freedom and independence. SPS
