Algiers, November 2, 2011 (SPS) - The Ambassador and Representative of the High Commissioner of the European Union in Algeria, Lora Baez, declared that the EU "will maintain" solidarity with the Saharawi people and will continue its humanitarian aid," in a statement to the Algerian newspaper elkabar.
The European official also announced an aid of € 9 million for the Sahrawi refugees at the end of the year.
According to officials, the Europe public support since 1993 has reached 150 million euros.
She reiterated the support of the EU to "the efforts of Secretary General of the United Nations for a just and final settlement of the conflict in Western Sahara". (SPS)
