El Aaiun (Occupied Territories), November 3, 2011 (SPS) - The Saharawi political prisoner, Mohamed Bani, 42, appeared Thursday before the investigating judge of the military court in Rabat (Morocco), after more than 11 months in detention in the prison of Salé (near Rabat,) in relations with the events of Gdeim Izik, reported a Sahrawi judicial source.
According to the Collective of Sahrawi Human Rights Defenders (CODESA), Mohamed Bani denied all the charges against him in the hearing which took place in the presence of the defense that attended the trial of the group of 24 Sahrawi political prisoners arrested for the same reason.
Born in 1969 in El Aaiun, occupied capital of Western Sahara, Mohamed Bani is father of five children. He was arrested November 8, 2010, during the murderous assault of Moroccan forces against the protest camp of Gdeim Izik.
He was tortured and mistreated during his arrest in El Aaiun before being transferred to the prison of Salé (Morocco), it should be recalled. (SPS)
