Bir Lehlou (Liberated Territories), February 08, 2012 (SPS)- President of the Republic and Secretary General of the Polisario Front, Mr. Mohamed Abdelaziz has urged Tunisian President to convince Morocco to allow the Saharawi people exercise their legitimate right to self-determination as the rest of Magrab Arab people and the world.
In letter to Mr. Munsif Marzuqi published today by the Algerian newspaper "Al-Khabar", President Mohamed Abdelaziz called on Tunisian counterpart, from his distinguished political position as first democratic president to the Free Tunisia, to convince Morocco to abide by the democratic and legal choice in resolving the conflict and allowing the Saharawi people to decide their future freely through self-determination referendum.
"Peoples of the region are counting on the first leader of Democratic Tunisia to fulfill this noble mission" , the President asserted.
Recalling the bloody events took place in occupied city of Al Aaiun in Nov 2010, more than a month before the Tunisian uprising, President Mohamed Abdelaziz described the Saharawi protest camp of Gdeim Izik as the Tunisia's Sidi Bouzaid.
He underlined the principles of freedom, dignity and democracy are shared by the two brotherly people of Tunisia and SADR.
Congratulating Tunisian counterpart on Revolution Anniversary, President Mohamed Abdelaziz said the victory of Dec 17 revolution is significant moral support to the national struggle of the Saharawi people to achieve their legal rights.
Furthermore, the President asserted that the Moroccan attempts to use the noble purpose of Magreb Arab Union to exterminate the Saharawi people and denying their rights, is immoral and will fail as its predecessors.
"Bulding the Maghreb Union on solid foundations guarantee its survival, should be based on the respect of the international law, democracy , freedom and justice by enabling the Saharawi people to decide their fate," the President emphasized. (SPS)
