Saheed Elhafed (Refugee camps), Feb 14, 2012 (SPS) - SADR government has expressed on Tuesday its sincere desire for serious cooperation to achieve the aspirations of Maghreb Arab people, asserting any construction of the Union should be based on full respect of the Saharawi people' s right to self determination and independence, in statement concluded the first meeting of Council of Ministers.
Chaired by President of Republic, the meeting discussed several topics including the last developments of peaceful Intifada in occupied territories and southern Morocco, political conferences of National Council elections, the project of government program for 2012, commemoration of 36th SADR proclamation, the reception of foreign delegations and the new edition of Sahara Marathon.
Under Article 73 of the Constitution, members of the government sworn in before the President of the Republic.
Prime Minister provided a outline about the major aims of the governmental program .
Council of Ministers focused on the efforts to reinvigorate the political organization, supporting Intifada of Independence, ensure the constant enhancement of the combative readiness and military capabilities of the Sahrawi People’s Liberation Army, review and consolidate the organs and institutions concerned with security.
It addressed the last development in the national cause particularly Saharawi masses in the occupied territories who have consistently made continued heroics, condemning campaigns of brutal repression and solid blockade carried out by Moroccan authorities of occupation .
Denouncing the situation of Saharawi political prisoners in Moroccan jails, the council called on the international community to immediately take all necessary steps, measures and sanctions on Morocco to stop its violations of human rights.
It reiterated the call to accelerate the establishment of UN mechanism enabling MINURSO to protect and monitor human rights in Western Sahara and report about it, release Yahia Mohamed Hafed and all the Saharawi political detainees in the Moroccan prisons, reveal the fate of more than 651 Saharawi missing and remove the Moroccan military wall (Berm) which contains millions of internationally banned mines, including anti-personnel.
Council of Ministers stressed the need to end the looting of Saharawi natural resources by Moroccan occupation, calling on the European Union and countries of the world to refrain from signing any agreement with the Kingdom of Morocco including Sahrawi territories and waters. (SPS)
