Saharawi delegation participates at activities of Model United Nations in the University of Carlos III

Madrid, March 10, 2012 (SPS) - A Saharawi student delegation is attending the activities and deliberations of Model United Nations held in the University of Carlos III in Madrid, Spain, in the presence of students from Spain and various countries of the world, organized from March 6 to 9, 2012.

The Model United Nations is an academic simulation of the United Nations works suppervised by the students that aim to educate the participants about the UN bodies and how to take decisions at the levels of its basic bodies, current events, topics in international relations, diplomacy and the United Nations agenda.

The Saharawi students took this opportunity to raise awareness about the Saharawi cause among the foreign students, where they give detailed explanations on the situation of the Saharawi refugees and the status quo of the question of Western Sahara.

Members of the Saharawi Delegation informed their interlocutors about the tragic situation suffered by the Saharawi citizens in the occupied territories of Western Sahara, as well as the media blackout and daily repression perpetuated by the Moroccan authorities against them.

The Delegation includes Mohamed Jomani, Basiri Hasan and Tfarrah Wadadi. (SPS)
