European association urges France to participate strongly in rapid decolonization process of Western Sahara

Budapest (Hungary)  May23,2012(SPS) the Central and Eastern European Alliance for Solidarity with the Saharawi People, Tuesday, urged France to participate “strongly” to accelerate decolonization process of Western Sahara, the last colony in Africa through a free and fair referendum that enable the Saharawi People to decide their destiny, as learned from a message sent from this association to the France President, Francois Hollande.
 

"We in the Central and Eastern European Alliance for Solidarity with the Saharawi People hope that France strongly participate to speed the decolonization process of Western Sahara through a free and fair referendum  that enable the Saharawi  people by a democratic way  to self-determination”
 

“We also wish that France   contribute to stop the exploitation and import of natural resources of Western Sahara until  reach a final solution to the conflict, "says the association  in the letter which  a copy reached  SPS.
 

The association also asked France as a party of the Fourth Geneva Convention to intervene to Moroccan Government to allow free movement and creation of associations to the Saharawi population in the occupied territories of Western Sahara and to release all Saharawi political prisoners in Moroccan jails.
 

The alliance finally demand the creation of UN mechanism to monitor and protect human rights situation in the occupied Western Sahara.(SPS)
