Submitted on

Guleimim (South Morocco) June 15, 2012 (SPS) - The Moroccan repressive forces violently dispersed Sahrawi protestors in the city of Guleimim, causing confrontations between unarmed young Saharawis and Moroccan forces at Martyr El Ouali’s street, according to the Ministry of Occupied Territories and Communities Abroad.

The source indicated that these protests and confrontations come after the unfair charges of one year of prison in force plus a fine against the Saharawi activist Nur Eddin Hamu on the ground of his political position regarding the question of Western Sahara as well as his effective participation in the Intifada (uprising) of Independence.

In the same context, the Saharawi masses held a peaceful sit-in at Martyr’s El Ouali’s Street to protest the unfair charge against Nur Eddin hamu, where they chanted national slogans calling for the release of the Saharawi political prisoners and withdraw of Moroccan occupation from Western Sahara.
