Establishment of Brazilian Committee of Support to Saharawi Republic

Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), June 24, 2012 (SPS) - A Brazilian Committee of Support to Saharawi Arab Democratic Republic have established Saturday at the headquarters of the Brazilian Workers Union, in the presence of Mr. Hamdi Bueha, Ambassador in Mission to Brazil, and Karim Lagdef, from Saharawi Foreign Ministry, who took part at the People’s Summit held in parallel with Rio+20 UN Conference in Rio de Janeiro, informed source of the Saharawi delegation.


The event is an initiative by the political forces, unions, civil society of Brazil to obtain support for the struggle of the Saharawi people, publicize their cause and work with the Government of Brazil for the recognition of the Saharawi Arab Democratic Republic.


This event was supported and attended by Brazilian politicians, labor leaders and lawmakers from the Workers' Party, Communist Party, Socialist Party, Democratic Labour Party, Socialism and Freedom Party, Unified Workers' Central, Workers Central, Social Democratic Party, Coordinator of Civil Organizations, Landless Workers Movement, National Commission on Human Rights.
