Tipaza (Algeria), Sept 8, 2012 (SPS) - The Counselor of the Saharawi President, Mr. Lehraitani Lehsen, called Saturday on the UN to abide to “implement its resolutions in order to enable the Saharawi people to exercise their right to self-determination,” stressing “the struggle, in all its aspects, will not be give up until our country being liberated.”
“The time has come to embody the international resolutions, which exceeded 100, on the ground,” the Counselor told the press on the sidelines of a solidarity act with the Saharawi people organized in Tipaza, 80 Km west of Algiers, by the Algerian Future Front Party, adding “after all these years, the international body should enable the Saharawi people to exercise their right to self-determination.”
The official asked in the same regard the UN to “underline a deadline for the holding of the self-determination referendum, which has long been awaited due to Morocco’s political maneuvers and pressures by some international parties.”
“The Saharawi people will continue the struggle by all political and diplomatic means, and even the military action, if necessary, to eradicate the roots of occupation from our lands,” confirmed Mr. Lahraitani, pointing that the Intifada of Independence in the Saharawi occupied territories “has been on since 2005, despite repression and oppression committed by Moroccan occupation.”
Concerning Algerian position on the Saharawi question, Counselor of Saharawi President stated “the support of Algeria, castle of revolutionaries, to the liberation causes across the world, especially our cause, does not need to be confirmed, because it stems from a firm and historic position of its people and government, which has not changed since four decades.”
The Saharawi official visited Tipaza along with a delegation include the Secretary General of Saharawi Information Ministry and staff of SADR Embassy in Algiers to attend a solidarity act organized by the Algerian Future Front Party.
“This act of solidarity demonstrates the full support of the Algerian Future Front to the Saharawi people, which stems from a principled conviction derived from our history of struggle against colonialism in the framework of international legitimacy,” underlined Mr. Abdel-Aziz Belaid, President of Algerian Future Front Party.
