Submitted on

Chahid Al Hafed (refugee camps), Oct 5, 2012 (SPS) - The Saharawi Coordinator with the MINURSO, Mr. Mhamed Khaddad, held Thursday at headquarters of the National Committee of the Referendum talks with the Special Representative of the UN Secretary General in Western Sahara Mr. Wolfgang Weisbrod-Weber.

The talks focused on the resolution approved by the UN Security Council last April, evolution of the negotiations between the Polisario Front Moroccan Kingdom, obstacles faced by MINURSO in the occupied Western Sahara and preventing the Sahrawi citizens from direct contact with the MINURSO.

Mr. Khaddad said that these talks come to focus on the recent visit of RFK Centre for Justice and Human Rights to the occupied territories of Western Sahara and Saharawi refugee camps, in addition to the gross violations of human rights occurring in Western Sahara, particularly the events that took place in the occupied city of Smara.

The visit of the German Wolfgang Weisbrod-Weber is the third of its kind, after he took the office as a special representative of the UN Chief in Western Sahara. (SPS)
