President of Republic concludes visit to Ghana

Accra (Ghana) January08,2013(SPS) President of the Republic ,Secretary General of the Polisario Front Mohamed Abdelaziz, concluded on Monday a visit to the Republic of Ghana, where he participate with many presidents and foreign delegation   in inauguration ceremony of the  new president-elect  of Ghana Mr. John Dramani Mahama.
 

The ceremony which took place on Monday at independence square in Accra was an opportunity to President Mohamed Abdelaziz to congratulate the Ghanaian elected President and his deputy    on behalf of his own name and on behalf of the Saharawi people and Government.
 

It was also an opportunity to President to held talks with heads of some participant delegations including president of South Africa Jacob Zuma, President of Nigeria Jonathon Goodluck and vice-president of Namibia, Hikuvini Muhamba in addition to Foreign Minister of Angola and Amkgerian Minister for Africa, Abdel Kader Msahel.

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mohamed Salem Salek, told national Media that the visit was an occasion to Ghana to renew its solidarity and support to the Saharawi struggle for independence and freedom, pointing out that the presence of the Saharawi Arab Democratic Republic represents by President in this important event confirms the role of Saharawi state in the African continent.
 

The President was accompanied by an important delegation includes the Foreign Minister Mr. Mohamed Salem Ould Salek, Minister of Vocational Training, Individuals and Public Service Ms. Khira Bullahi, Secretary General of Women Union Ms. Fatma Al-Mehdi, Minister Delegate for Africa Mr. Hamdi Abbaih, Advisor to the Presidency Mr. Abdati Breika, Director of Protocol at SADR Presidency Mr. Alwa Bani and Ambassador in Accra Mr. Mahjub Sidina.
 

The Republic of Ghana has recognized the Saharawi Republic since 24 August 1979, and establishes diplomatic relations at the ambassadorial level with it ever since.

 

These relations strengthened by the opening of the Saharawi Embassy in Accra on September 2011. (SPS)
