President of South Sudan called on Morocco to recognize SADR.

Addis Ababa, January 30, 2013 (SPS) the President of the Republic of South Sudan, Salva Kiir Mayardit, called on the Kingdom of Morocco to recognize the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) to end the conflict in Western Sahara, stressing that his country gained independence through a referendum of self-determination.

Salva Kiir who was  intervening  in the debate of the  African leaders on resolving the conflict in Western Sahara has called on the African Commission to make every effort to hold a referendum on self-determination in Western Sahara and to take all necessary measures. "

It should be recalled that the 20th AU Summit adopted a resolution in favor of self-determination of the Saharawi people, in accordance with Resolution 104 adopted by the OAU in 1983 and by the General Assembly of the United Nations in 1984. (SPS)
