UJSARIO attends 25th congress of World Scout Movement

Manchester (UK), June 9, 2013 (SPS) - The Saharawi Youth Union (Spanish acronym: UJSARIO) took part at the 25th Congress of the World Scout Movement, convened from 6 to 9 June 2013 in the British city of Manchester, informed a source of the delegation.


UJSARIO was represented in the meeting by its International Secretary Mr. Mahfud Salama.


Addressing the audience, Mr. Mahfud Salama reviewed the history of Saharawi question and the gross violation of human rights perpetuated by Morocco against the Saharawi citizens in the occupied Western Sahara, asking to exert pressure for the release of Gdeim Izik detainees.


Debating on the policy of the Organization for the next three years, many petitioners focused on the importance of cooperation in supporting the Saharawi issue.


UJSARIO Representative took this opportunity to hold talks with several organizations present at the conference including Mr. Thomas Maes, Secretary-General of the Young European Socialists (YES), Mr. Ivan Rodríguez Rodríguez, Vice-President of the Socialist International Women, British Organization “Woodcraft Folk” and the German de Falcon, in addition to the childhood organization from Switzerland, Denmark, Peru, Brazil, Colombia and Cataluña.
