Saharawi prisoner denied access to medical treatment in El Aaiun jail

El Aaiun (occupied territories), June 17, 2013 (SPS) - The Saharawi political prisoner Hassanna Elouali was denied access to medical treatment the administration of the Moroccan local prison in the occupied city of El Aaiun, capital of Western Sahara, according to a source of CODESA.


The Saharawi political prisoner has suffered over the past ten days of high fever, headache, pain in the neck and shoulders, according to the same source.


He had made several requests to the prison administration to allow him access to to medical services, but these requests has always been rejected, despite his deteriorating situation of health, in a violation of the law 23/98 governing the prisons in Morocco, regretted the same source.


Hassanna Elouali was arbitrarily arrested along with other Saharawis during the events that took place in the occupied city of Dakhla on September 2011.


He is currently serving a three-year prison sentence, added the source. (SPS)
