Bir Lehlou (liberated territories), July 26, 2013 (SPS) - The President of the Republic and Secretary General of the Frente Polisario Mr. Mohamed Abdelaziz has sent Thursday a letter of condolences to the President of the Government of Galicia Mr. Alberto Nuñez Feijoo following the derailment of a train in Santiago de Compostela.
The Saharawi president expressed, on behalf of the Saharawi people and government, solidarity with the generous Galician people on these sad moments.
“We have received with great sadness the news of the tragedy of passengers train derailment in the area of Santiago de Compostela. At these very difficult and hard moments for Galicia and its people, I would like to extend my sincere condolences as well as the Sahrawi people’s solidarity with the victims of the tragedy and their families,” stated the letter.
On relevant context, the National Union of Saharawi Woman has expressed Thursday its condolences to the victims of Alvia train that wreck en route from Madrid to Santiago de Compostela.
“We have received with dismay the news of Alvia train derailment near Santiago de Compostela. We send our heartfelt condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in this tragic accident,” pointed out the letter, wishing that the injured people will soon recover from this tragedy.
At least 80 people have so far been killed and 178 injured, after a train derailed at the entrance to Santiago de Compostela, Galicia, covering the route between Madrid and Ferrol.
The Spanish Prime Minister, Mariano Rajoy, has decreed on Thursday a three-day official mourning in the country after the train this accident which has killed tens of persons. (SPS)
