Saharawi community in France takes part at Fête de l'Humanité

Paris, Sept 14, 2013 (SPS) - The Saharawi community in France participated yesterday, Friday, at Fête de l'Humanité (the Festival of Humanity), an event organized annually by the French Communist newspaper “L'Humanité”, informed POLISARIO representation in Paris.


Marking the occasion, Saharawi community, present at the event, staged an exhibition includes books, pictures and banners which shed light on the Saharawi cause, looting of Saharawi natural resources, seriousness of mines, suffering of Saharawi refugees and human rights abuses committed by Moroccan State in the occupied Western Sahara.


They also held talks with the French political parties and civil society organizations.


President of the Association of Families of Saharawi Prisoners and Disappeared (AFAPREDESA) Mr. Abdeslam Omar is expected today to address a seminar organized by L'Humanité newspaper on the topic of self-determination.


Moreover, a seminar on Western Sahara issue and the situation of human rights in the occupied territories will be organized Sunday at the corridor devoted to the Saharawi community, in the presence of the international delegation that visited the occupied Saharawi territories last August. (SPS)
