‘Unprecedented’ military reinforcement arrive in occupied El Aaiun pending International Day of Human Rights

El Aaiun (Occupied Territories) December 9, 2013 (SPS) – Some 3000 element of the Moroccan forces of repression arrived the last two days in the occupied city of El Aaiun in anticipation of demonstrations on the advent of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, according the Ministry of the Occupied Territories and Communities Abroad.  

 

"The Moroccan occupation authorities proceeded to deploy units of the auxiliary forces and police in the occupied city of El Aaiun in preparation to suppress demonstrations organized on the occasion of the celebrations of the International Day of Human Rights and the expected visit of the UN Working Group on Arbitrary Detention,"the source said.

 

It should be recalled that dozens of Sahrawi citizens were injured Saturday evening by the ‘violent’ intervention of the Moroccan occupation forces to break up a demonstration in the occuped city of el Aaiun, to express their rejection of the signing of the European Union to any agreement with the Kingdom of Morocco that includes the territories, waters and resources of the Saharawi people.
