Accra, Jan 25, 2014 (SPS) - Editor of the Ghanaian newspaper “Daily Graphic” Mr Ransford Tetteh indicated Friday that everybody must “jointly fight together to ensure that Morocco respected the UN resolution so that all of us can contribute to the development of our continent.”

In a visit by the Saharawi Ambassador in Ghana Mr. Mahjub Sidina to the Daily Graphic’s headquarters, the Editor Mr. Ransford Tetteh said the world had become a global village where what was happening in Saharawi Republic should be of concern to all.”

SADR ambassador, for his part, commended Ghana for its support to Saharawi people’s fight against Moroccan colonial rule, acknowledging its position of support to SADR’s right to exist as an independent state in line with the United Nations resolutions.

“The problem of Saharawi is a problem of colonisation. The resolutions are clear that we want a referendum. If the people of Saharawi want to be independent, that is their right, and it should be their prerogative as well if they want to be part of Morocco; it should not be imposed on them,” added the Saharawi diplomat.

The newspaper published a detailed interview with the Saharawi ambassador, in which he gave a general overview about the conflict of Western Sahara.

This visit allowed the Saharawi diplomat to meet with the Ghanaian newspapers staff.

Daily Graphic is one of the most important and best-selling newspapers in Ghana. (SPS)
