President of Republic condoles Algerian counterpart following military plane crash

Bir Lehlou (liberated territories), Feb 12, 2014 (SPS) - The President of the Republic, Secretary General of the Polisario Front Mr. Mohamed Abdelaziz expressed, on behalf of Saharawi government and people, his “heartfelt” condolences to H.E. Mr. Abdelaziz Bouteflika, President of the Republic of Algeria, following a military plane crash on Tuesday.


“We have received with deep grief and sorrow the news of the crash of the Hercules C-130 Algerian military plane, in its route from Tamanrasset to Constantine, killing more than 50 of its passengers,” writes the Saharawi President, in his letter to President Bouteflika.


“In this difficult time, I would to extend to Your Excellency, on my own behalf and on behalf of the Government and people of the Sahrawi Republic, my heartfelt condolences and sympathy, and through you to families and relatives of the victims as well as to the People’s National Army and brotherly Algeria as a whole,” added President Mohamed Abdelaziz.


Hercules C-130 crashed Tuesday into the Fartas Mountain, near the Algerian Province of Oum El Bouaghi.


Only one passenger reportedly survived and he was rushed to the military hospital in Constantine. (SPS)
