Submitted on

Assa (southern Morocco), Feb 13, 2014 (SPS) - A vigil was organized in the town of Assa (southern Morocco) to demand the release of all Saharawi detainees incarcerated in the prisons of Moroccan occupation.

The peaceful sit-in, held on Wednesday, saw the participation of the Saharawi society’s different segments.

The protesters waved Saharawi flags and chanted slogans denouncing Moroccan violations of human rights carried out against the defenseless Saharawi citizens.

They also called for the release of all Saharawi political prisoners in Moroccan prisons, expressing commitment to national unity under the Polisario Front as the sole representative of the Sahrawi people.

This peaceful sit-in, which lasted over an hour and a half, was marked by the communications of intifada actors for independence. (SPS)
