Submitted on

Lima, April 13, 2014 (SPS) The Peruvian Council of solidarity with the Saharawi people (COPESA) condemned the "insolence of the King of Morocco who threatened to solve the problem of  the Western Sahara outside the framework of the United Nations, "said the president of COPESA, Ricardo Sánchez Serra, in a statement received by SPS.

Mr. Sanchez-Serra described as "insolent and absurd the statements of the King of Morocco, Mohamed VI, according to which he criticizes and threatens the UN," in response to the report of the UN Secretary General on the Western Sahara.

"Morocco which is isolated internationally as a result of the condemnation of all international organizations of human rights for its ongoing violations of the Sahrawi rights," he said, "does not want the United Nations peacekeepers (MINURSO) to undertake the task of monitoring and protecting of human rights. "

"Finally, I hope that the Security Council wil approve the recommendations of the UN Secretary General and France will not use its veto against the next resolution and does not continue its unconditional support to Morocco, because there are people who has suffered  from  genocide" for more 40 years.
